Dr. Roham will provide you with a set of pre-operative instructions to help you prepare for your liposuction procedure. These instructions may vary between patients, but you can generally expect Dr. Roham to advise you to:

Procedure

When you arrive for your procedure, a member of Dr. Roham’s team will lead you to a private treatment room where you will meet with Dr. Roham and his surgical team. They will reconfirm the details of your treatment plan before cleansing your skin and administering anesthesia. After this, Dr. Roham will begin your procedure.

Dr. Roham will place a small incision near the treatment area before administering a tumescent fluid to the local fat deposits. ⁽²⁾ This fluid consists of lidocaine, epinephrine, and saline, and it will further numb the treatment area, reduce bleeding, and swell the fat cells for easier removal. ⁽¹⁾ He will then insert a small cannula and move it back and forth to break down your fat cells and suction them out, leaving your chin and jawline more defined and contoured. After Dr. Roham makes each of your desired corrections, he will close your incisions using absorbable sutures. You will then rest in our recovery suite until you are ready to return home.

Recovery

These effects are temporary and will subside on their own gradually, but you may also manage them using a cold compress, prescribed medications, and plenty of rest.
