The FDA has recently approved a new lip filler from Galderma: the makers of Restylane line of fillers. Restylane Kysse is a brand new hyaluronic acid filler designed especially for the enhancement of the lips.
Restylane Kysse is made using XpressHAn technology that balances the filler’s structure and flexibility to suit the highly soft and mobile lip area. This technology allows the filler to provide maximal plumpness and less swelling.
Restylane Kysse can enhance the fullness of the lips and also add definition to the border to create soft, natural looking lips. Lips appear revitalized as wrinkles are filled out and also become soft and supple.

Restylane Kysse is created with Optimal Balance Technology to enhance volume and definition with long lasting results for the lips compared with other fillers. Restylane Kysse is clinically proven to last for 6-9 months, and some effects have also been seen at 12 months. The unique cross-linking of the hyaluronic acid gel in Restylane Kysse has been specially developed for the treatment of sensitive lips. The hyaluronic acid-based gel softly integrates into the sensitive lip tissue and has been proven to cause little swelling.

Dr. Roham will discuss how much product you need for your designed outcome. Restylane Kysse contains local anesthetic, lidocaine, for improved comfort during treatment. Dr. Roham uses a very fine needle to shape the treatment area with multiple, small injections underneath the skin. Overall, injectable treatments can take between fifteen to thirty minutes.
Although you can expect some bruising or swelling at the injection site, you can return to your normal activities immediately. If needed, you can treat any discomfort with the use of an ice pack.

Juvederm is an extensive family of dermal fillers made with hyaluronic acid. This substance can be found naturally in the body where it’s responsible for important functions in the skin, like moisture retention. When injected as a gel substance under the skin, it can create volume. Juvederm XC is a specific formulation of this injection technique that can effectively fill in wrinkles and folds around the mouth, sometimes called parentheses lines or smile lines. Juvederm XC usually lasts for up to one year.
Dr. Roham’s first step is always ensuring his patients are comfortable and relaxed during treatment. That’s why Juvederm treatment begins with a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area before injection. Juvederm XC also contains lidocaine for further comfort during and after the injection process. Dr. Roham then uses a very small needle to make a series of injections in a specific pattern at the wrinkles around the mouth. You might need one or more syringes to achieve your desired results. Injectable treatments are usually quick and you can immediately return to your normal schedule.
There’s no downtime associated with injectable treatments, and you’ll see results immediately after your treatment session. Like any injection, you can expect some mild bruising and swelling at the treatment site, but this usually subsides within the day.
